Opportunity: 

The Shire of Denmark is seeking suitably qualified people to fill the roles of Machine Operators / General Hands and Mechanic positions for a casual pool.  The casual roles would be on an “as needs basis” to cover leave and also during high volume project work.

Ideal Candidates:

  • Machine Operators to work with our Civil Team - skilled and qualified machine operators with experience in operating excavators, loaders, rollers and truck driving also and happy to assist with labouring. Some of the work involved would be maintaining our local road network and drainage as well as improving footpaths, trails, and cycleways.
  • General Hands to assist with maintenance of the Shires assets – footpaths, roads and drainage etc. Some of the work may be physically demanding so personnel are required to be capable of carrying out essential job functions that require physical exertion.
  • Mechanics – qualified and experienced to assist our Workshop Mechanics in maintenance and servicing of all plant and equipment, trucks and the Shires’ fleet vehicles.

Qualifications required:

  • HR Drivers Licence
  • Plant Operating Tickets
  • Construction Card

Other documents required:

  • National Police Clearance
  • Pre-employment medical

Hours:                               Casual - working 8 hour days on an as need basis

Rate of pay:                    $42.6645 to $47.6645 per hour including 25% casual loading, depending on the position applied for, and up to 16.5% superannuation.
