The Shire of Denmark Community Grants program opened this week, with $25,000 worth of funding available for community groups to apply for.

The annual Community Grants program is designed to provide financial assistance to local not-for-profit groups to help them deliver projects which will benefit the Denmark community.
The 2023 program continues a long tradition of community funding support provided by the Shire to a range of local groups and activities.

Community Grants recipients in 2022/23 included Chamber of Blessings/Denmark Arts Inc, Denmark Community Rowing Association, Denmark FM/Denmark Community Resource Centre, Denmark Gymnastics, Denmark Machinery Restoration Group Inc, Denmark Mountain Bike Club Inc, Green Skills Inc, Nornalup Residents and Ratepayers Association and Riding for the Disabled Association Denmark Centre Inc.

Denmark Shire President Ceinwen Gearon said Council is pleased to be able to offer annual assistance to such a range of worthy projects every year.

“We have such a creative and energetic community in our Shire, so I have confidence that this year, we will again see a huge range of diverse and exciting ideas and projects in the applications,” Dr Gearon said.

Eligible community groups can apply for a grant of between $201 and $10,000 via the Community Grants program, with hints and tips available online via the Shire of Denmark website.

Applicants who need help with their applications are encouraged to make an appointment with the Shire of Denmark Community Development Officer to discuss their applications.

There are plenty of resources available to help community groups and organisations to complete solid applications.
