Nominations for Denmark’s Community Citizen and Sportsperson of the Year Awards for 2025, an initiative that honours individuals who have made exceptional contributions to our community, open today.
Community members can nominate their friends, family and colleagues, or anyone else who has demonstrated outstanding service to our community, with winners receiving a $200 voucher in appreciation of their contributions to our Shire. Nominations can be submitted in the following categories:
- Youth Citizen of the Year (Under 24)
- Senior Citizen of the Year (65 and over)
- Community Citizen of the Year (any age)
- Group Citizen of the Year (NFP Group/Organisation)
Additionally, community members are encouraged to nominate athletes who have achieved remarkable results or have significantly contributed to their sport or sporting club over the past year. The categories for these awards include:
- Junior Sportsperson of the Year (under 18)
- Senior Sportsperson of the Year (18 and over)
- Service to Sport Award
The official nomination form is available online here with hard copies available at the Denmark Recreation Centre and Shire Administration Building.
Nominations are open from Friday, 7th March, and close Monday, 31st March 2025.
