Three community groups have been named as the recipients of 2024/25 Shire of Denmark Community Grants – Round 2, following a rigorous application review process.

This approved funding, drawn from a pool of unspent funds in the 24/25 Community Grants program, represents a combined value of $7,500 and will provide financial assistance to local not-for-profit groups and organisations to help them deliver projects which will benefit our local community.

The successful projects in this round were:

  • The Denmark River Easter Market (Denmark River Markets),
  • The Bibbulmun Airs 2025 Concert – a fundraiser event for the Denmark Hardship Fund (Eklektika Community Choir), and,
  • The Installation of water and power to the work shed at the new Lions Lair (Lions Club Denmark).

Applications were assessed by demonstrated need and alignment with both the Shire of Denmark Strategic Community Plan and Sustainability Strategy.

Acting Denmark Shire President Jan Lewis said the strength of the applications received was reflective of the commitment to building a vibrant community by so many of our residents.

“This was a small round, but it was competitive”, Cr Lewis said.

“It’s genuinely inspiring to see what members of our community propose to offer to our shire and equally exciting to be able to assist the recipients in turning their plans into a reality.”

“I encourage everyone to stay tuned for the announcement of the 25/26 Community Grants program later this year and look forward to receiving another diverse range of project applications to support.”

In a commitment to the transparent use of public funds, the Shire published a Community Contributions Register as part of the Annual Budget 2024/25 adoption process in August 2024.
