Property Compliance Inspections Commence Today

Every property in the Shire of Denmark must be compliant with the annual Firebreak and Fuel Management Notice from 1 December until 30 April.

Inspections begin today and will continue throughout the maintenance period until 30 April. This means, if you haven't already done so, now is the time to prepare your property.

Don't forget to:

Clean your gutters regularly

Keep your lawn trimmed to less than 10cm

Ensure there are no branches overhanging your house, garage or shed

Remove flammable matter from up against your house (including firewood)

Make sure your firebreaks are well-maintained

Keep in mind, you cannot simply clean your gutters today and forget about them for the next few months. Every property in our Shire needs to be maintained at a compliant level right through to 30 April 2025.

Our inspectors will visit properties more than once throughout the maintenance period.

Penalties will be issued to non-compliant properties.
