From acid wash denim to leg warmers and vintage vinyl, shoppers will snag epic stuff at 80s prices when the Garage Sale Trail returns to Denmark this month.

Across two weekends in November, Australia’s Garage Sale Trail will see thousands of pop-up sales happen in coordination across the nation, with more than fourteen sales listed already locally within the Shire of Denmark.

Shire of Denmark Sustainability Officer Yvette Caruso said the Council-powered event was a fun and social way for residents to reduce waste, meet the neighbours and make or save a few dollars.

“The garage sales registered locally are expected to save over 5000 kilograms of perfectly usable items from ending up in landfill,” Ms Caruso said.

One of those local sales is ‘Much Ado About Books’ at the Denmark Public Library, set to be held on Saturday 19 November.

Host Senior Librarian Robyn Fairclough has listed more than 1000 literary books and magazines with all profits set to go back into additional library resources for the community.

“Garage Sale Trail is an opportunity to declutter and part with our second-hand items. This helps to reduce waste and extend the life of the things that we love,” Ms Fairclough said.

Garage Sale Trail has partnered with PayPal to enable cashless payments at this year’s event. Shoppers and sellers with a PayPal account and the PayPal app can make and accept secure, touch-free payments using PayPal QR codes.

Garage Sale Trail runs nationally on 12-13 and 19-20 November 2022.
